There is a magical place near Gordoun France called Perigord Retreats. It is owned and operated by Angela and Adrian Turner with the help of their children Harry and Chloe. It is an all inclusive artist retreat. I didn’t have to be asked twice to spend a week there. On the grounds they have 9 egg layers. Angela loves her hens. They are so fun to watch. These are hens whose only job is to eat delicious gourmet leftovers from the guests’ meals, and produce the freshest, yummiest eggs in the south of France. They aren’t in danger of ending up on the menu because I’m told that egg layers aren’t tasty. There was one hen who sat on the eggs keeping them warm all day and all night. They weren’t fertilized and they weren’t her eggs, but everyone needs a purpose. This isn’t her. This lady was zipping around the yard on a mission. Despite what you may think about laying eggs, apparently it requires a VERY active chicken!
